In tonight’s 1000-lb Sisters episode, it is revealed Tammy and Amy used to be close. Until Tammy said she wouldn’t go to Amy’s wedding. Amy chose a haunted place in spite of knowing Tammy’s superstitions and so Tammy didn’t want to go.
It was the same for other relatives as well. The part that went unsaid was that Amy was rushing into things. She knew Brian for a month when they got engaged. Amy got arrested because of him. It was his car that the cops searched and they found a small bag of marijuana. Amy got two years probation because of that.
The only highlight was that it was a longer engagement than it was a courtship. Amy and Brian were taking their time planning their haunted wedding. Though the true extent of the fallout happened once Tammy started losing weight. Tammy used to be the problematic one. She was the one that was drinking and doing drugs. She nearly died.
It woke her up. She started to lose the weight. She qualified for surgery. She even had excess skin removal since that prior surgery. She was down to 185lbs. Tammy was doing great.
Naturally, Amy felt she was too full of herself once she lost weight. Amy failed to see that she was starting fights with everyone. She fought especially hard with Mandy and walked out of the waiting room during Tammy’s surgery because she felt Mandy was bullying her. Mandy simply made a joke after Amy passed gas. Yup!
This was considered bullying now. Amy forgets when she had lost weight herself. She lost enough that she felt secure in getting married and having two kids. Tammy wasn’t supportive because she had been jealous and now it was Amy’s time to be jealous.
Amy put on some weight after the two kids because they were back to back. She wasn’t all way to where she used to be, but she wasn’t fully happy either. The sisters tend to lash out when they’re unhappy and they see the other being happy. Tammy got her surgery right as Amy’s first marriage was imploding.
Amy couldn’t wait to get away from Michael. She was forced to fight for access to her own bank account on top of pursuing custody because Michael didn’t really want the kids. He just wanted to hurt Amy.
None of that matters anymore. The divorce went through. Amy got primary custody. She also had to do parenting classes after her drug arrest. She met Brian and they were planning on getting married at the sanatorium on Halloween. There was a slight issue because they were waiting almost to the last minute to book everything.
The venue really should have been booked a year prior. It was going to be a hot commodity for Halloween. There was also the fact that the wedding party was very small because Amy’s family wasn’t going to be there.
Amy cried about that during her wedding consultation. She was upset that her siblings didn’t support her choices. Brian also didn’t seem like he wanted to comfort her or try to mend the bridge with her family.
He was all like screw them with the wedding planner. The same planner that was willing to discuss alternative venues with haunted history that might be a better fit for her family. The woman was trying to help and Brian didn’t care if any of them showed up. He also didn’t have anyone from his side attending the wedding.
They wanted this huge haunted wedding that would be attended by ghosts. Amy knew her family was religious. Only she ignored it because she said it was her day. Her first wedding was rather small because they didn’t have much money back then.
She now wanted to throw this huge wedding even if the only person that shows up was in fact her new best friend/Tammy’s replacement, Lily. Lily was Amy’s neighbor. They met at the park and hit it off. Amy liked that she can be wild with Lily the way she used to be with Tammy.
Tammy funnily enough wanted to explore her options. She was considering moving in with her girlfriend, Andrea. She wanted to get her first job. She wanted to work at an animal shelter. It hurts her that she doesn’t have any work experience. It helps her that she’s good with animals.
Tammy made her living as an influencer before and she used to make content with Amy. Not anymore. The sisters hadn’t talked directly in two months. They were cursing at each other in the family group chat.
Chris wasn’t getting involved. He was trying to lose enough weight to qualify for skin removal surgery like Tammy. His wife was trying to qualify for bariatric surgery and her giving up sodas has been her hardest pitfall.
She missed the sugar. So much so that she was baking nonstop. She wanted to start a catering business and the baking side business was going to segway into that. It was just brutal on everyone’s diet. Its not helpful when she pours in sugar by the cup full and not the spoon full. And so she’s really struggling with that diet.
The rest of the family wasn’t doing too bad. Chris got a compression top to help with the excess skin. Misty and Mandy both lost some serious weight. Mandy was losing weight without trying.
She wasn’t in the best of health. She was tired. Her mood was all over the place. The same with Tammy who was experiencing paranoia again and who did her best to stop that from taking it out on other people. No one later showed up at Misty’s birthday party ready to get into a fight. There was one crucial rule at their dad’s house. It was neutral territory.
They weren’t allowed to fight on the property. They had to take things outside of the boundary if they wanted to throw hands. Then people began to be happy at the possibility of Tammy getting engaged when she wasn’t and Amy got jealous about it. Brian tried to reassure everyone that the sanatorium was no longer on the table.
Meaning they can now come without offending their beliefs. Chris said he wouldn’t have gone and that was enough for Amy to leave the party with Brian. She felt they were making a joke out of her wedding.
And so she technically stuck by the family rule because she left before she got into a fight.
THE END!
