General Hospital Tuesday, December 23 Recap: Drew Faces Extortion Charges, Alexis’ Stunning Letter, Chase Suspended

General Hospital (GH) recap for Tuesday, December 23, reveals that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) was facing extortion charges while Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) got stunning letter and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) learned of his PCPD suspension.
At GH, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) spilled to Ava Jerome (Maura West) about being subpoenaed for the defense, so they speculated about why.
Ava warned Portia to say as little as humanly possible if she was questioned about Drew in court.
In the courtroom, Alexis called Chase to the witness stand.
Chase testified about the PCPD rushing to pursue a case against Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) with flimsy evidence when there were so many other suspects.
Chase also talked about carrying out his own investigation on the side since he was so sure of Willow’s innocence.
ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) took her turn questioning Chase and tried to make it seem like his loyalty to his ex-wife was driving his decisions.
Turner also got Chase to admit that he found no proof to exonerate Willow.
After listening to Chase in court, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) summoned him to the station for a private meeting.
Dante scolded Chase for making the department look bad, but Chase felt like going after Willow was Dante’s way of protecting Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson).
Although Chase denied tampering with the video evidence against Willow, Dante suspended him so that Internal Affairs could look into the corrupted footage and his personal investigation.
That meant Chase had to hand over his badge and weapon.
Over lunch at the Metro Court with Michael, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) pointed out that she perjured herself for him and worried about Alexis potentially calling her back to the witness stand.
Nearby, Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) dined with Laura Collins (Genie Francis) until Tracy interrupted them.
That led to some talk about Laura supposedly convincing Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to sell his piers to Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota).
Laura also forced Martin to apologize to Tracy for the will fraud.
Tracy stood her ground on Martin needing to convince Drew to give back the family heirlooms, so he agreed to try again.
Back with Michael, he met with Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), who offered updates on Chase’s testimony and her fear that she made a mistake in supporting her husband’s personal investigation.
In the courtroom again, Alexis called Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) to the stand next.
That led to Portia having to testify about changing Heather Webber’s (Alley Mills) test results and getting blackmailed by Drew.
Portia explained that Drew used her to convince Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) not to run negative press at Aurora.
Alexis also got Portia to admit she visited Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) multiple times a month when she was alive, which meant Portia could’ve had access to the gun.
After Alexis pointed out that Portia previously lied about where she was the night of Drew’s shooting, she pushed for the truth.
Portia begged Alexis not to do this since she wouldn’t get the answer she was looking for.
Alexis insisted along with the judge, so Portia confessed she was in a suite at the Metro Court with Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson).
Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) was visibly disgusted, hurt and furious, so she ran out of the courtroom with Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) chasing after her.
Curtis also looked betrayed and angry as Portia wrapped up her witness stand humiliation.
Although Portia tried to explain herself to Trina outside the courtroom, Trina wanted Kai to get her out of there.
In Kai’s car, Trina reeled as she realized Isaiah could be the father of Portia’s baby.
Back with Curtis, he cornered Portia and demanded to know if the baby was his.
Portia acknowledged that she’d need a paternity test for that answer, but she insisted she was going to tell Trina and Curtis the truth.
Curtis struggled to believe that since Portia had proven herself to be a liar so many times.
Despite Alexis’ efforts to squeeze in another witness, the judge insisted they’d resume the trial in the new year.
Once the court proceedings finished for now, ADA Turner made it clear that she was coming for Drew with extortion charges.
Drew was livid and warned that Alexis could forget about seeing Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinante) during the holidays.
As Drew left the courtroom with Willow, they faced a ton of reporters’ questions about Drew blackmailing the co-chief of staff and how much Willow had known.
Drew said no comment repeatedly and got them both out of there.
Back with Alexis, a messenger delivered an envelope that contained a shocking typed letter with no signature.
Someone thought Alexis should be aware that Michael was at Drew’s house the night of the shooting and that Tracy saw him there.
General Hospital spoilers say Alexis will try to use this news to Willow’s advantage, so stay tuned.
